My emotion is tenacity. 36 years in an ever-changing industry and although my nature is to rebel against change, as I look back, I must recognise how far I have come and indeed how different the financial advice process has become over the years. An industry that needed to be highly regulated and legislation that protects the consumer.
In the “old days” the policy pusher ruled, and It was innately an industry that any “salesperson” could entre and be financially successful.
The industry was in dire need of regulatory changes that would protect the consumer and so the industry evolved, requiring study and advisors that were properly prepared to guide a client on their unique path to wealth and protection.
We often as advisors still encounter the legacy of those days and it has taken years for the industry to be recognised as a profession and that a well-meaning advisor can change ones financial path and impact a client’s life beyond measure.
For me it has always been more….I am not a salesperson at heart. I am an advisor at heart and the need of my client will always outweigh the sale.
So I keep at it… keeping up with current tax, estate and retirement legislation.Ensuring my practise is aligned with the ever-changing regulations. Political and economic trends that ever change investment opportunities so that clients can come first.
My message of Financial Freedom, Independence for every life stage and how to achieve it will always be the cornerstone of my business and I will get the message out there one client at a time.
